Common Goals

This is not a network for people with perfect dogs. None of us owns the flawless dog either in type or detail. The co-operation goals only constitute a common vision and aspirations for what we want as a goal with our breedwork. It has nothing to do with the dogs we own today. What brings us together is that we strive towards a common goal.  To preserv the breed with its arctic and working abilitys.

All members of the network have approved and endorsed these common goals and agree on the main focus of the work with our breeds.

Should it happen that you have questions or do not understand the meaning of them, please contact us and we will reason about them. These common goals may change or develop if our members feel the need to.

  1. What brings us together is that we strive towards a common goal. To preserv the breed with its arctic and working abilitis. We see our breeds as Arctic cultural heritage that we have an obligation to preserve. We do not want to change our breeds, we want to preserve their historical heritage.
  2. We want healthy, sound and functional dogs. "fit for function". And we protect the polar characteristics.
  3. We stand for the preservation of the original anatomical type and construction, which means that we follow the breed standard, we try to strive to preserve the breed type within the framework of a natural variation. An appearance that makes our dogs suitable to survive and perform their traditional work (physical work),  such as sled dogs in arctic climates. We distance ourselves from conflicting breeding goals.
  4. Our historical mapping and image archive help us lay the foundation for what type of dog we should try to preserve.
  5. We care aboute good mentality: stable, harmonious and socially friendly dogs that function in a modern society, have a good packmentality that makes them suitable to be kept in groups and good mental qualities for work/function, which enables good work ethic/moral. We see the performance characteristics as an important breeding issue. Characteristics such as energy, drive, grit, etc.
  6. We distance ourselves from exterior exaggerations and type slippage.
  7. We protect and contribute to the genetic survival of the working part of our breed populations.
  8. We cooperate and help each other to spread genetic breeding material between breeders and countries. We help each other both with the practical work and with keeping costs down when importing/exporting between countries, we take into account the network's financial recommendations. This is to facilitate the breeds working part of the population to survive genetically international.
  9. We each try to come up with a simpler website as an overview of our dogs and our business in line with the network's wishes.
  10. We take responsibility for not contributing to matador breeding.
  11. We see our dogs as family members and pleasant company between work shifts.
  12. We accept and respect each other's differing opinions on various issues. We can discuss different opinions without turning a substantive issue into a personal issue.
  13. We practice good animal husbandry and adhere to current animal welfare legislation and the regulations of respective country's kennel club.
  14. We advertise the network on our website, in social media etc.
