This material is created by the Swedish breed club with the aim of provoking thoughts and reflections about the breed's development/management, where the breed stands today, and where we are going. The hope is that together by studying old archival photos we will be able to get an idea of the image (appearance) of the original exterior as the breed looked when they were established as a breed in the western world and what type of dog stood as a model for the establishment of the breed standard , which look was the word trying to describe? And what appearance is it that enables the POLAR FUNCTION, the POLAR CHARACTERISTICS? And finally a comparison with today's existing variations within type and overall.
